I save a lot of money by using coupons and buying what's on sale.
I just finished updating my weekly grocery lists to cover my current menus. I make one set of menus for the month (and repeat month after month until our needs or tastes change). By having an appropriate grocery list for each week's menus, I am less tempted to waste money on deli chicken or freezer dinners or going out for dinner - only because I don't know what we're going to eat. :) Trying to say this briefly. Hope it makes sense. :)
I save a lot of money by making my own bread with our bread maker (each loaf costs cents as opposed to dollars). My husband and I also are growing our own garden so that we have fresh veggies, fruit, and herbs from our garden. We are able to eat a lot of veggies, fruit and herbs on a daily basis and are able to freeze some more to save money later in the year. The convenience of the garden helps too since it takes seconds to grab things from the garden instead of driving to the store (this saves gas money too!).
Elena Maria,Thanks for your tips. I have to take the time and clip the coupons! And then remember to bring them with me to the grocery store. :)
Margaret Mary,That's a great idea to be sure and have menus. And, yes, it makes complete sense!
Melissa,I like to use my bead maker, too. I haven't used it in a while though. I'll have to dust it off and put it to use. I love your idea about the garden. I grow a huge organic vegetable garden every year and grow the herbs too. I love harvesting fresh veggies and putting them on the dinner table, annoucing, "FRESH from the garden!"Thanks again for your ideas. :)
