A college student getting ready to return to classes at an away college for his fall semester called out from his bedroom for his Mom. He wanted her advice. He was packing up his clothes and things and would be leaving the following day.

"Do you think I should bring a jacket or just these sweatshirts?"

The Mom, of course wanting him to be warm answered, "Take the jacket, because it has been getting cold these last few nights. You may need it."

The son said, "Well, I'll be okay with these sweatshirts. The jacket is kind of bulky."

He then asked, "How may pairs of underwear do you think I should pack?"

"Seven," the Mom said.

The son looked at his Mom with a look that almost screamed, "Are you kidding me?"

The Mom, interpreting the look said, "Well, how often do you do your laundry?"

Again, no answer, but a look that spoke loud and clear. A look only a Mom could decipher.

"Well, then, I think you should bring fourteen," she answered.

They both then broke out into broad smiles!
