I am re-posting a radio segment with Teresa Tomeo. It is a "Mom's Corner" segment discussing Christmas traditions from last year. I also shared on our segment, a couple of experiences I had. One of them, I call, "Jesus at the Post Office." The other little story is about a woman I met in the grocery store a couple of years ago around Christmas. You can hear the whole segment by clicking here.
The woman I met has something to do with the Overnight Christmas bread recipe posted below this one. I hope you enjoy the segment.
Three days until Christmas!
God bless!

DONNA - I ENJOYED THE RADIO SEGMENT TODAY WITH TERESA. IT BROUGHT TO MIND SEVERAL THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY AT THE MALL WITH MY DAUGHTER BETSY. I HAVE NOT BEEN AT THE MALL FOR SEVERAL YEARS - TOO CROWDED, ETC. THE PURPOSE ORIGINALLY WAS TO HAVE MY RX FOR EYEGLASSES FILLED. THE YOUNG CLERK (ASIAN) WAS SO HELPFUL. I MISPLACED MY RX SO BETSY CALLED THE DR. TO HAVE IT FAXED. THE RECEPTIONIST THERE WAS SO UNCOOPERATIVE AND BY THE TIME BETSY FINISHED PLEADING WITH HER, I SAID MY PRAYERS TO THE BLESSED MOTHER AND THE RX TURNED UP ON THE FRONT SEAT OF THE CAR. THEN THE ASIAN CLERK HELPED ME SELECT THE FRAMES, ETC. ALL WELL AND GOOD. SHE TOLD ME THAT I WAS ENTITLED TO $100 OFF AND A FREE EXTRA PAIR OF GLASSES. PRAISE THE LORD, NO SENIOR DISCOUNT, NO AAA DISCOUNT BUT ALL OF THE ABOVE. SHE REALLY DID A GOOD JOB IN SAVING ME SOME MONEY. THEN I WENT TO TALBOTS, ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORES, I USUALLY MAKE PURCHASES FROM THEM ON THE INTERNET BUT THE POSTAGE IS COSTLY DOING IT FROM HOME. ANYWAY, THE CLERK (A BLACK WOMAN) WAS VERY HELPFUL. I TOLD HER I WAS SHOPPING FOR A GIFT FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO WOULD BE BACK IN ONE HOUR. WE CHATTED AND SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE HAS A SON CLOSE TO THE AGE OF MY GRANDSON - SO WE EXCHANGED SOME OF THEIR HONEST COMMENTS ABOUT THEIR VIEW OF LIFE. WE GOT ALONG FAMOUSLY, SHE ACTUALLY ASKED ME FOR MY PHONE NUMBER SO THAT I COULD BE IN HER LIFE. WHEN BETSY ARRIVED I INTRODUCED THEM AND THEY TOO CHATTED. (I TOO AM "GUILTY" OF TALKING TO STRANGERS.) THEN IT WAS OFF TO MACY'S DOMESTIC DEPARTMENT. THE ELDERLY BLACK SALESWOMAN WAS SO HELPFUL - SHE ASKED FOR MY MACY'S CARD AND APPARENTLY IT EXPIRED BECAUSE I DID NOT USE IT FOR SOME TIME. SHE OPENED A NEW ACCOUNT AND WAS DELIGHTED BECAUSE SHE GETS CREDIT FOR THAT. SHE WAS EXCITED BECAUSE HER MANAGER WAS NEARBY AND HE COMPLIMENTED HER ON HER WORK. WE CHATTED AND SHE TOLD ME THAT NO CUSTUMERS TAKE THE TIME TO TALK TO HER. HER HUSBAND IS A CANCER SURVIVOR AND HAD A HEART ATTACK. I TOLD HER THAT I WILL PRAY FOR HER AND HER HUSBAND AND SHE SAID WITH A SMILE THAT SHE WILL PRAY FOR ME AS WELL. THEN SHE SAID SHE KNEW THAT WHEN SHE SAW ME THAT I WOULD BRING JOY INTO HER LIFE. GOD DOES WORK IN STRANGE WAYS AND IT IS OK TO TALK TO STRANGERS. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, I LOOK FORWARD TO THE BREAD RECIPE AND WILL FORWARD IT TO MY DAUGHTERS. LOVE AND PRAYERS, MERRY CHRISTMAS. I WILL BE SINGING AT MIDNIGHT MASS AND AT HIGH MASS CHRISTMAS MORNING. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AND CHILDREN. LOVE, BB
